Washing

Proper washing protects the fit, color, and embellishments of your Lore garment.

• Wash each garment separately, turned inside out
• Use cold water and a mild liquid detergent. We recommend a fragrance-free option
• Hand wash, or use a gentle machine cycle
• Rinse immediately. Do not allow the garment to soak
• Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or other in-wash additives

Drying and Storage

• Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight
• Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean
• Never leave damp garments in a gym bag. Color transfer can occur quickly
• Do not leave leotards in a laundry basket with wet items such as towels, or near items with zippers, Velcro, or other rough closures
• Store light and dark colored fabrics separately to prevent color bleed

Personal Care Products

Many everyday products can affect the appearance and durability of your leotard, especially around embellishments and fabric color. Athletes should be mindful of the following.

• Deodorants, especially those containing aluminum, can cause fabric color to bleed or fade
• Lotions and perfumes can leave residue and damage delicate fabric finishes
• Hairspray and aerosol sprays can affect foil overlays and weaken rhinestone adhesives

Whenever possible, apply personal care products before getting dressed.

Fabrics and Embellishments

The fabrics used in gymnastics apparel across the industry are inherently delicate, despite the demands of the sport. They can pick, snag, or tear easily on sharp objects, rough surfaces, Velcro, zippers, and other abrasive materials. Rhinestones, foils, mesh, and metallic finishes require even more care.

• Embellishments are applied with high-quality adhesives, but repeated wear, friction, and contact with alcohol-based products may cause some stones to loosen over time
• Avoid contact with Velcro, zippers, rough mats, jewelry, and other abrasive or sharp surfaces
• Handle embellished and mesh garments gently when putting them on and taking them off

A Note on Wear Over Time

Even with careful washing and handling, performance fabrics may show signs of wear with repeated use, including light fading, slight pilling, or color transfer between contrasting colors. This is common in gymnastics apparel and is not considered a defect.
